Trying to decide what to wear for date night can be a challenge, but we are here to make things simple! No matter the kind of date you are heading on, from fun to active and super dressy, we’ve got you covered.

Brunch Date

First up we’ve got a brunch date! This is a slightly less informal date that a classic dinner date, so the pressure is taken off slightly if this is your first date with someone. Not many places that do brunch are very dressy (unless you’re doing bottomless brunch and it may be different), so you can keep things cool, comfy and casual. We love a wide leg trouser, more casual crop top and trainers for brunch, then you could do something a bit different with your hair and makeup. Or, go for ripped jeans and a dressier top, again with trainers or maybe heels depending on where you’re heading. A more casual dress also works really well for a comfy casual look for brunch! When it comes to brunch, just keep things casual so you can fully relax and enjoy the date.

Museum Date

Next up we’ve got a museum date! This is something a bit different, where you can get to know eachother without the pressure of having to sit and talk constantly. Instead, you can make conversation about things around the museum, you could stop for a coffee in the cafe and just have a nice casual time. For a date in the museum, start your outfit with your favourite jeans and a simple black or white tee. Then, layer with a trench coat or overcoat, pair with flat or heeled boots, a cross body bag and your favourite accessories. A black floppy bow would look beautiful with this!

For something a bit dressier, swap out your jeans for more fitted trousers. If you’re going on a warmer sunny day, switch out your coat for an oversized white cotton shirt and if it’s very warm, swap your trousers for a lovely skirt.

Hiking and Picnic Date

If you’re going on more of an active date, like for a hike and picnic, you need to keep things casual. So, start with either a pair of gym leggings, gym shorts or even a unitard. Then, depending on the weather, layer with an oversized tee or sweatshirt, for a comfy yet casual look that is perfect for a hike and picnic. Pair with your favourite trainers, a pair of sunglasses (if the weather permits) and some cute earrings to look effortlessly stylish. Don’t forget your cute backpack with some snacks or your picnic stuff!

Dressy Dinner Date

For those of you heading on a classic dressy dinner date, we’d always advise that you go with simple little black dresses. You really can’t go wrong with a little black dress, it’s super classy and there are so many options out there so you can make sure you feel really confident. Choose a mini or midi dress and then decide on what sleeve type you would like, from strapless to spaghetti straps, puff sleeves, off the shoulder or long sleeve. The main thing you should aim for here is just feeling super confident, so you can enjoy the date and be yourself. Keep it simple with your accessories or jazz things up with colourful matching shoes and a bag, then finish off the look with your favourite jewellery. This is a chance to really get to know the other person, or to spend some quality time with your partner.
