10 Types of Simple Hairstyles Which Will Make You Look Stylish

The Modern Messy Bun

Make even the messiest of hair look polished without putting in a lot of effort! Brush hair into a high ponytail, then slip a headband over your hair. Stick either a pencil or the end of a tail comb through the hair on the crown of your head, and gently wiggle up, tugging sections of hair at your roots for added volume.

Tip: Use a pencil to take some hair out from the part above your ears and let the strands fall gently above your shoulders to add a delicate touch if you like.

The Messy Twist-and-Pin Bun

If you like hair that is well done but won’t fall flat, this hairstyle is for you. Loosely twist a part of hair near your temple away from your face. Secure the twist with a bobby-pin placed diagonally at an angle. Loosely tie the rest of the hair into a bun at the nape of your neck.

Tip: You can choose to show the pins—not hide them—so that they act as an accessory. This sophisticated look is perfect for weddings, whether you’re the bride or her best friend!

The Neat Hair Bun

Repurpose last night’s mussed-up texture with an easy out-of-your-face style. This style is fit for cranky mornings when you are on a tight schedule and need to get things done with a no-bullshit attitude.

Tip: Get into a pullover sweater, jeans and a pair of white sneakers; grab the biggest handbag you own and get ready to conquer our checklist for the day! In fact, you could even  shop from online boutiques and  give your closet a makeover by getting more practical clothes that you can just slip on and head out in, without the fear of ironing them or anything.

The Chic Side-Knot:

This is a super chic but easy hairstyle to make for the days you want your hair away from your neck. Pull hair into a low side ponytail, tie it off with an elastic, then firmly hold and twist the hair around the base of the ponytail like you would a bun and tightly tie it up.

Tip: If you have bangs or a fringe, you can either choose to leave them loose or twist them up with a pin if you don’t want hair on your face either.

The Half Side Twist Braid:

Part your hair like you usually do, gather a section of hair from side that has more hair; select a section from it, braid it and pin it to the back of your head. Let the rest of your be in loose curls on either side of your neck

Tip: Tug at sections of the braid to loosen it to make it look more voluminous. The exaggerated edges also help create that flower-petal finish.

Defined Waves

Twist sections of damp hair (make the sections large or small if you want looser or tighter waves, respectively) and blast with a blow-dryer, concentrating the heat downward so you don’t ruffle the cuticle and cause frizz.

After your whole head is in dried twists, separate it in parts for defined, beachy waves.

Tip: You can part your hair, sweep all the curls on a side and pin the other side neatly behind your ear for a ready-to-rock-the-dance floor look! Smoky eyes and bright red lips will only add to the magic.

Side Braided:

French braid a section of hair on one side of your head from the hairline all the way down to the ends and secure it with a small hair tie.

Tip: If you plan to attend a formal event with this hair, you can add small pearls to each knot to make it more beautiful.

Put a Cap On It:

This is for the days when you don’t even feel like waking up but have to anyway. Wear your hair down the way you usually do, grab your favorite cap and place it firmly over your head backwards. You are all ready to go out with your IDGAF attitude all over your face (and hair!)

Tip: You can also put on a pair of huge sunnies to hide your puffy eyes if you like.

Headband Halo:

Take a small section of hair above your forehead and make tiny braids out of them.  Place your favorite headband over it, let it fall around your forehead.

Tip: If your headband is made of pearls and you’re particularly feeling like a pretty summer flower today, put on your pearl earrings and slip into a flowery summer dress and flat pumps. We don’t know about your day but you’ll be Instagram ready for sure!

Pretty Plain Braid:

Separate your hair into three sections and braid it all down to the ends. Let any loose strands fall on the back of your shoulder.

Tip: Braids look great with absolutely ANY clothes, so once your hair is braided, do not worry about what to wear. Slip into anything and I assure you, you will slay.
