Is Android Oreo On Its Way To Your Device? Let’s Find Out

Every year Google keeps coming up with updates to make the developers and users’ mobile experience much innovative and benefitting.

This time around, it has been over a quarter since the OS giant rolled out its most recent update – Android 8.0, which they coined as Oreo.

But even after being in the market for over a quarter, there are very few users who have received the update on their devices. Google states that there are just under 1 percent Android smartphone users who have received the update on their phone.

With the update having created such a hype with its never experienced before features like the PIP mode, all new notification bar, and the power packed security suite, if there is one question on every Android users’ minds, it is – ‘When will get Oreo update on our devices’?

Let’s put an end to the agony.

Here is a list of the Android devices that are going to get Oreo in 2018, divided according to the device manufacturers.

Nexus/Pixel

Google had started rolling out the Android O version as beta for a number of Nexus and Pixel devices around May 2017, but now it is now made official, Google had confirmed on 21st August that version is now underway for all of its devices.

All the Google Pixel and Nexus devices would now be loaded with Android Oreo 8.1, after the brand launches Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2.

Asus

Asus had already started rolling out its Oreo-specific software to ZenFone 4 internationally around the end of 2017 December.

In addition to the formal launch of its new ZenFone 4 models, Asus confirmed that both ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4  series would be updated to Android Oreo around 2018’s second half. While Zenfone 4 have already started getting the update, it is only a matter of time that the ZenFone 3 would get the update too.

HTC

HTC’s latest launch, HTC u11, was the latest to have got the Android 8.0 update. According to Mo Versi, HTC’s VP of product management, “we are working on getting a version for our Sprint variant very soon as well.

Huawei

Huawei has confirmed the name of its phones that will be getting Android Oreo.

The Mate 10 Pro and Huawei Mate 10 have already come with Android Oreo, while Mate 9 is undergoing a Beta test. Huawei has confirmed that Android Oreo will be in Mate 9 only weeks after the launch of Mate 10, which is scheduled for mid-November.

Honor, Huawei’s sub brand has confirmed that the Android 8.0 Oreo, will be rolled out for its Honor 8 Pro model from around 1 February 2018, with its Honor 9 devices following soon after.

LG

There are still a number of speculations revolving around when LG will be rolling out the Android Oreo version in its devices. But, amidst all the rumours two names have come up which are confirmed in line of getting an Oreo update soon –

Motorola

Motorola has already started rolling out Android Oreo update in its devices since the fall of 2017. However, there are still a number of Motorola devices that are yet to experience the intuitive Oreo.

Nokia’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas confirmed that every single of the Nokia’s Android devices will be updated to Android Oreo, which includes Nokia 3.

Samsung

Samsung has already started running the beta version of Android Oreo for its Galaxy S8 Plus and S8 since the beginning of November 2017 and by then it has updated the test version a number of times. If rumours are to be believed, Samsung plan on introducing Android Oreo to its devices going back to Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6.

Sony

In the plannings to rule the mobile industry again, Sony brought Android 8.0 to a series of its smartphones. The brand has already released Oreo for its Xperia XZs, XZ,  and the X Performance model, with Xperia XZ Premium being the next device to experience Oreo.
